Software to remotely control a comptuer

So my Dell is up and folding, but I need to be able to access it remotely, since there isn't enough room for my monitor where it is. So, I come to you guys to ask this: What is the best free software that I can install to remotely access it over the web? It has to be lightweight (both on RAM and CPU), since it will be folding and there aren't any real drivers installed for video...

I know chrome has an app for that But ive never used it. I probably will when school starts  so i can control my servers from school.

I heard it has a lot of delay, not sure if thats a general issue or if its just that persons internet.

Teamviewer Or Chrome remote desktop, as said above, Idk about Chrome, But teamviewer can be controlled from mobile devices too.

I use RealVNC to control my computer from my iPad. I'd recommend NoMachine too though.

My old I3 laptop could run it, and believe me, that laptop was a pile of shit, had trouble loading internet pages.

Uhh, you'd have to just try, it's SUPER easy to set it up. Just copy one code from one PC to the other and you're good.

How about just using Remote Desktop, it's already installed on it (if it is running Windows), you only have to enable it.

I have had very little problems... I only use in home remote though... Never tried out of my house... But it should be good?

if your wanting to pay for it LogMeIn else Teamviewer - although if you want to be really techy you could theoreticly set up a Remote Desktop Connection

- this wouldnt be secure though seing as as soon as you open that port everyone on the internet is going to try and hack it!!!
Therefore you can change the port of the remote desktop connection to something else and then in the remote desktop client you can do 

ip.ip.ip.ip:portnumber

That's just for sharing your mouse and keyboard. I use it.

 

But so far TeamViewer is what I am looking for. If anything changes, I will let you know.

I'm using Chrome Remote Desktop for just controlling my PC remotely, and yes it can get a bit laggy when I'm at a weak WiFi signal. But usually I'm getting not any disturbing lagg.

That's nice to know I will try it out and see how it goes. Does chrome need to be open on the receiving end PC as well?
