Cheap "Browsing PC" good for Internet browsing

Why. the raspberri pi is unbelievably slow. browsing on it is terrible.

I don't know what's wrong with the link, it takes me to a newegg listing for crucial memory.

 

The Raspberry Pi doesn't look like the best solution, the banana pi might be better.

 

You can also get cheap computers if you look around on ebay or other sites like that, I've seen used systems with core2duos or even core2quads and 2-4GB of ram for a less than £100, those are great for web browsing, word processing and simple everyday stuff like that.

Chrormebooks are great, especially for someone who isn't very tech savvy that just wants a simple computer for web browsing and basic tasks.

I'd rather build my mum a system with a decent Athlon with a cheap 120GB SSD than get some piece of crap slow as balls prebuilt, even if it is an internet browsing machine.
