Samsung 840 EVO AMD Compatibility Problems?

I am going to buy a samsung 840 evo 120gb today but there is one thing holding me back. It know my people and even samsung confirmed it there is some AMD motherboard issues. I've seen it on fourm posts before and in reviews such as this

 

Not compatible with a some AMD motherboards

 

Received this today and was disappointed to discover that these drives suffer from compatibility issues when used on systems containing the AMD ACHI drivers. Basically Samsung are well aware of the problem, but I cannot for the life of me find a solution, the MS ACHI driver is not that much better.

End result: device is patchy and transfer speeds are just awful. (40MB/s) 
I'll be returning this for a refund and grabbing a Crucial 480GB SSD for about £15 less!

Should I let this hold me back?

Review seems more like dumb user error. Don't worry about it

What did you use to benchmark you speed?

SSDs don't do better for one brand of hardware and worse for the other....

If there is any difference in performance, at all, then you won't notice it.
