No, I meant as in gameplay. If I meant it graphically, I would've said that...

They should give away The Saboteur.

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

I did. As I recall wing commander II was better, though that is reaching back into some pretty fuzzy memories. Had a great time killen me some kilrathi back in elementary school.

For what it's worth, WC was an epic enough saga, with enough enthused followers that there is a fan game out for it. That being said, if you're not into retro gaming then there is little reason to believe that you'll like this.

I recently bought both wing commander and quest for glory sagas from greenmangaming, so its worth money to me. And here it is for free*

Yeah, considering I played the original one on a 66MHz 486DX2 with 8MB of RAM and no 3D graphics card, and those were way past the minimum requirements. I think the minimum requirements were something like a 25MHz 486SX with 2 or 4 MB of RAM, it might even have been playable on a fast 386.

My old laptop played it like a beast (400MHz Mobile Pentium II, ATI RAGE PRO LT 4MB, and 64MB of RAM).

Yeah, you need a Titan Z and Xeons in SLI to even get this playable on low settings.

Seriously, though. This game is more demanding than Solitare!

If i recall, WC is a classic for those who like space sims / space combat games. I think Linus has talked about it a few times on the livestream.  I haven't always been into them, because I have never found one that was enjoyable and free. Until Star Conflict came out. That game got me hooked on the genre(yes i know its not so much an MMORPG as just an MMO, but its still pretty damn cool).

I am whatever I am.

Wing Commander Privateer was the best in the series. This game is kinda like Freespace's alcoholic father.

That said they were going to the store for a pack of smoke's & never returned.
