INTRO

 

 

Hey fellow users , 

 

I'm legitlegit and I've been lurking on LTT for a while now, and I've finally decided to make an account and a build log.  I am relatively active on reddit, where you can find me under /u/legitlegit , or on OCN at also, legitlegit  .  I've done many builds before, some including watercooling, but this is my first build log, so bear with me if I am doing something unordinary/wrong  :huh:

CPU- Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core

Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-Z87MX-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150

Ram: Hyper-X 4x2 Ram

Storage: Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5" SSD

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM

GPU: MSI 7970

PSU: NZXT Hale 90v2

Case: Case Labs S5

WATERCOOLING PARTS

 

CPU Block: EK Supremacy Universal CPU Liquid Cooling Block CSQ

GPU Block: EK Radeon HD 7970 VGA Liquid Cooling Block CSQ

GPU Backplate: EK Radeon 7970 VGA Liquid Cooling RAM Backplate 

Pump: 

Pump Block:EK DDC X-Top CSQ Pump Top - Acrylic 

Tubing: PrimoChilll 1/2" OD Rigid Acrylic Tube

Fittings: PrimoChilll 1/2" OD Rigid Revolver Compression Diamond Knurled Fittings

Reservoir: EK-MultiOption RES X3 250

Radiator:EX360 Triple Fan Radiator

 

PLANNED STEPS

 

But back the the build log first things first, the expected events to occur within the build log (i'll link all the updates i do once i have completed them here)

 

1)   Painted Gentle Typhoon's- Again, just painting my GT-15 blades, one red, one white, and lastly one blue. I was thinking about dying them, but i'll try that some other time 

 

2)   Painted mobo- i know, i've gotten many concerns/criticism for this, but i have tested it with an old mobo of mine and it works 100%. So i think it will be a blast ! What I plan on painting my motherboard is the 4 four ram slots, (red, white, blue, red) going in order from left to right, and the 4 pci-e lanes (red, white,blue,red) going in order from top to bottom. I will try to make this as neat as possible, but I am still a beginner at painting and modding so pls cut me some slack

 

3)   Painted Rad- Just painting the shell of the rad, not the fins. I have a XSPC 360 rad, so it will be 120mm red, 120mm white, and 120mm blue. Hope it will be as easy as it sounds!

 

4)   Sanding EK blocks- Yep, hopping on that bandwagon, sanding my EK CPU, GPU, and Pump CSQ blocks.

 

5)   Putting everything into place- Nothing special, just something i gotta take pics of to put in the build log

6) Acrylic Pipe Bending/installing- Again, Nothing special, just part of my build, but what i am thinking of is to somehow color them so that each bend is another color out of either red, white or blue. For example, the tube from the cpu to rad is red, tube from rad to res is blue, tube from res to gpu is white, something along those lines.

 

7)   Leak testing- brb praying to God 

 

 

8)   Extensions - Not sure if I want to do them myself, or ask one of my good friends who is eager to do it do it

 

 

9)   Painted Caselabs S5- This is definitely a maybe thing. I'm not sure if I have enough skill/perfectness to try this, but I will definitely evaluate how I am doing with all the previous painting to see if I can accomplish this tassk.

Don't paint the case, it comes powdercoated and paint won't adhere to it. You will have to either get it in the primer stage and then get a paint shop to work with it, or just get it powdercoated instead.

SMALL UPDATE!?!

 

Got some supplies in earlier today..... I finished painting the GT's but their drying, so I'll try my best to take some photos tonight and post them . I think it went as planned, had a few tiny,tiny blotches, but barely noticeable.

BIGGER UDATE 1 B)

 

Got to take some pics of my recently painted GT's- i think they turned out pretty well, their not 100% done, as the circle made out of tape i made to cover the insides of the fan was too big, so it covered some of the part that the paint was supposed to cover, so I will be finishing that up later. I will be taking (hopefully) better pics in natural light once I am completely done! Lets go on to the pics

Disclaimer: I am unfortunately going out of town starting from tomorrow until the end of the week, so the build will be put off till then . My S5 will come in on Wednesday, along with my acrylic tubing, blocks, and fittings, so thats something to look forward to when I come back

Came back from vacation, and am excited because my S5 has arrived I haven't done much, because I'm dead tired, but here are some pics of stuff

-Making a small .gif of the case building, showing each step, nothing special.

BIG UPDATE 2

I just finished painting my rad ,and am pleased with it. It's the first "big" job I've done with the paint, so I was going through the learning process as I did it.
