(US) Newegg Powercolor 6970 $99.00

theroflcopta

Pretty sure a 6970 will perform decently in most modern games. And should definitely beat anything else at that price. If you can get past it's pretty ugly design haha. Free shipping too.

its a good deal at $99 but for a few dollars more you can get a GTX 750 Ti that performs the same at less power. I am not an Nvidia fanboy but the gtx 750ti or a  R9 270 would be more efficient. Look for benchmarks and you will see what i mean. The HD 6970 has more raw power but i have no idea why it performs similar to the GTX 750ti.

I own an MSI r9 280x (hd 7970)

System #1
Intel i3 4170 3.7GHz, Gigabyte H81M-H, 8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 1600, EVGA GTX 750 Ti, CoolerMaster Thermal Master case, Seagate 320GB HDD,  and 300watt PSU (salvage from old HP PC)

System #2
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz, MSI 990FXA-GD65, 8GB Corsair Vengence 1600, EVGA GTX 660 SC, Corsair 200R Windowed, Seagate 250GB HDD, EVGA 430watt PSU, and Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283

Wouldn't my 4960X bottleneck this?

Ah, darn. That's a problem, you'll have to wait for Skylake.
