What Programs / Softwares for monitoring hardware?

jaffacakes

Oink!

So I built my self my first gaming PC a few days ago (but I still can't use it, need a new ethernet cable), and I was wondering what softwares I should get for monitoring my hardware. For my general hardware I was thinking of CPUID HWMonitor, for my GPU MSI Afterburner (also for OCing), for my CPU I was thinking about CPU-Z.

Any suggestions, recommendations?

Thanks in advance, bruuh,

For CPU temps, i use Core Temp, MSI Afterburner for my GPU (since i have an MSI card anyway), and HWMonitor to check my mobo/PSU temps. Soo, pretty much what you had planned to use anyway.

Also, don't touch Speedfan with a barge pole, it's crap.

softwares

software*

If we are going to be that way, the word 'software' is a collective noun and doesn't require a plural form.

I use CPU-Z and GPU-Z for in depth info, but for normal monitoring I use Real Temp and EVGA Precision X.

However with the recent Precision X15 disaster with EVGA I'm thinking of temporarily switching to MSI Afterburner.

Openhardwaremonitor, cpu-z, gpu-z, realtemp and/or coretemp. Afterburner is good for gpu too but I personally think it is to buggy (but not a lot of people share this opinion).

I'll change fan speeds in the Bios. Should I need CPU-Z for seeing my CPU usage?

Core Temp tells you the frequency and cpu load.

I'll use Afterburner, I might change idea later on.

Real Temp can also display it (and clock speed) while also providing a superior interface for temperature observation.

Real Temp only works with Intel chips btw, OP.

I use corsair link, asus AI suite, and GPU tweak. These pieces of software are very hardware related. I use corsair Link for my H100i and AX860i, while AI suite for all my motherboard temps and fan settings. GPU tweak for my asus GPU.

MSI's Afterburner has a detachable hardware monitor, which is handy if you have a 2nd monitor to display it on whilst gaming or whatever.

As for CPU temps, Core Temp is relatively small so you can have that on a secondary screen, it even displays the temps in your taskbar, you can configure it a bit as well.

I don't have a secondary monitor :/. Could I make my iPad a secondary display with a program?

Just have them running and alt tab to check once in a while.
