Is nvidia still making the shield 2 controller or just the tablet?

Was just wondering if they are releasing the tegra K1 version of their hand held or is the tablet completely replacing it?

The shield 'portable' running a tegra 4 is remaining on the lineup. the shield tablet is merely a new addition to the shield family.

 

However, there are some rumors floating about stating that nvidia will release a shield ("portable")  2 when the 64-bit tegra k1 sporting denver cores is available. While the 32-bit and 64-bit variations of the tegra K1 are very similar in performance, the 64 bit will be kinder to your battery, hopefully allowing for a lighter and more pocketable revision of the shield with a larger, higher PPI screen.

yeah I just don't get the new marketing. "We want to make the ultimate in portable gaming! So here is a tablet with a stand and a wireless controller (not included) that you will need to use from a decent distance away to not strain yourself at a weird angle!! YEAH SHIELD WHOOO!!!"

What we are doing with the tablet is expanding the Shield family and we are still committed to supporting the Shield Portable. Remember, Nvidia is relatively new to making their own devices.
