Microsoft's Xbox Live was Booed at Quake Con

Well, Quakecon is historically an event filled with the hardcore PC gaming community, and I think that's a poor choice of venue to push console marketing.

 

To be fair the article says that it was a Bethesda guy who got booed for speaking about Xbox Live, there was no actual presence by anyone from the Xbox team from what I'm reading.

 

This seems a bit sensationalist.

 

After having heard the audio "I'm talking to all the young kids who haven't gotten aboard the PC yet" while advertising 18+ rated game good excuse bro. :lol:

Well that's what you get when you mention a subscription service right after you were done talking about a vastly superior service which is not only free but gives you much better discounts and it's not crippled by an underwhelming platform.

Xbox live has ads even when you have gold it's that bad lol.. I'm all for the concept of games console but realistically it needs to be better for the more expensive games & subscription fee..The PS3 did it right but the world wasn't ready for it T.T

i can see why he got boos, quake con, even though it is not specifically said, is a pc convention and you don't go on to a pc convention and start talking about consoles. It would be the equivalent of going on to a xbox or ps convention and start announcing stuff for the rival console.
