Am I the only one beginning to suspect that over the past 3 days, LTT forums have been targeted by paid trolls for apple products?

We've had at least 3 (to my knowledge) topics pop up about "apple isnt as bad as you think" one specifically pushing a single product; in the last 3 or 4 days.

I'm not sure if that's an average amount of "apple is better than you thought" topics per day, but it definitely stinks to me. I'm the type that's always suspicious, and I would not put it above a company like Apple (or windows for that matter) to pay people to go onto a forum that generally supports their competition, and try to do some marketing.

Just a thought.

I thought that was just one post that kept coming to the surface... However I highly doubt Apple would waste their time doing such childish things.

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are, Their - Their car, There - Over there.

I am 100% they are not people being paid by apple, also I highly doubt apple would pay people to do that

People liking apple products = must be paid by apple to make posts praising them.

That's your logic there. Apple don't make bad products, hell the build quality of their tablets, phones and laptops is nearly unbeatable. It's just the price that is bad, if the ipad air was priced the same as the nexus 10 or galaxy tab 3, it'd be the best tablet ever, hands down. But the price holds it back from claiming that title.

Not at all. Companies are in no way above paying people to troll forums to try and change peoples opinions of their products, if you're not aware of this practice then your behind the times. Political parties do this in the comments sections of news sites all the time. It's called social engineering.

I was saying that it seems a bit suspicious, was not outright declaring that they MUST be paid by apple, just saying that we've had a couple different topics in the last 3 or 4 days, and it seemed a bit out of place.

Does it? That's why I'm asking, haven't been here as long as others, and it just seemed like an odd number of them popping up on the home page beta trending topics thingy.

most of the apple threads ive seen here are by active members and now new ones

so i doubt they are being paid

A good point.

I was just thinking aloud really. Just seemed to be a bit of a blitz on it in the last 3 or 4 days, that's all.

Yeah even if it is inside an existing thread the argument always break out. Both sides are sick of it so this just makes the debate super heated instantly, people going off on one for the slightest comment

Yeah lots of highly active members have made posts/topics about it in the past, it seems to come around every now and again, normally when there is sometihng apple related released/in the news (or something android with loads of apple people commenting) etc etc

I love apple, but I wouldn't waste my breath posting a topic about it, just as I like windows and android and try not to comment on those too. I just like what I like, who cares what other people use, its their money and time

It's just people coming around to the fact that Apple is nowhere near as bad as everyone made them out to be. I'm not a massive fanboy but have always had a bit of respect for their software/hardware design and warranties etc. I think people are beginning to understand the patent system and what it has evolved into and that Apple are doing it more out of necessity than greed.

Peoples minds change all the time, trying to recommend an AMD processor a couple of years ago on the majority of forums was pretty much impossible... The whole fanboy thing just becomes a bit cliche and people begin to properly evaluate products rather than the repetitive bleats of sheep.

I reckon you will see a few more of these threads, IMO Apple seems to be adapting a lot more now to what the customers want.

LOL, just LOL. Austin Evans for example is not paid by Apple to my knowledge, in any way... He is what I'd consider a happy Apple customer (notice that I did not say Fanboy, as that is definitely not what he is). So are many other techies. Not sure why some people have this determined hate against Apple.

While most people here do see these things objectively and say "yes, I personally don't like it for this reason, but it is still a good choice if...", I've gotten this reply more than once on this forum: "Apple stuff is overpriced. It is just horrible. I've never tried it and never will." <-- Don't comment on something you know next to nothing about...

That being said, yes I do have noticed the coincidental increase in Apple-related topics and I do find it somewhat odd, and boring at that because the discussions are always the same...
