I finally got my birthday present, even though my birthday was a month ago. Its an i7 4790k and a Gigabyte Z97X SOC motherboard yay, but first some pr0n:

Then I got carried away and forgot to take more photos, until the very end :/

However here is the finished build, sorry if it is dark can't really help it and for the photo quality as I am using my phone.

Now onto the good stuff the specs and overclocking, now as this is a devil's canyon CPU hopefully I can expect 4.6Ghz or higher as this seems to be the norm.

CPU; i7 4970k

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X SOC

Cooler: H100i

GPU's: XFX HD 7950 w/ NZXT G10 & H55 + Powercolour HD 7950

PSU: Corsair RM750

SSD's & HDD: 128GB Corsair GS SSD (Boot), 250GB Samsung Evo (Games) and 1TB Seagate Barracuda (Storage).

Case: Fractal Design Arc Midi R2

Now so far in terms of overclocking I am pretty unsure so I have just copied what other people have attempted and I am currently sitting on 4.6Ghz @ 1.3V I haven't tried going up to 4.7Ghz as I was stress testing but I will try now also what is the maximum voltages and temperature I am currently at roughly 80C running AIDA 64 with occasional spikes up to 90C but those are only momentary and I think can be ignored.

EDIT: 500th post WOOT

I really like the orange look so each to their own and yes eventually I will get another G10, just have to figure out were to mount both of them, as for VRM temps its pretty toasty the exact numbers escape me but it isn't too bad

if you were to get another h55 you could mount it to the spot above the drive bays

I actually can't the tubing length isn't quite long enough, maybe it is with the bottom card, but with the top card I couldn't get it to reach. So I either have to get a different asetek cooler for both with longer tubing, deal with having two different coolers or do a full custom loop :/

what about moving the current h55 to the top of the case and the second one where the current one is. but hell if you do a full loop you get to use the oc force to its full potential and kick the ever living crap out of that 4790k

Well the H100i is getto rigged as  far right as possible, and if I wanted to mount a rad next to it I cant actually use any proper mounting holes, so custom loop is becoming more and more like the only option.

Awesome build, to make it look outstanding i would add another NZXT GPU cooler , get some orange and white LED's and replace that ugly Xfire bridge with a black one( or colour it orange yourself.) Also maybe remove the sticker of the PSU since it doens't really fits into the color sceme.

These are some awesome fans btw and look great:

My thoughts exactly when I opened the box, I saw the offer pamphlet inside the box and  threw it out without even thinking about it.

Those fans look beast, too bad they don't really exist in any Australian stores however PCCG has some similar fans which are by the same company and orange. Guess I better start saving up to make everything look all neat and not all getto, there is only one problem and that is the ugly blue PCB on my second card :(

Get a sheet of alluminum , use a plastic spacer inbetween and voila your home made backplate ( well it sounds easier than it is , you'll have to do some pretty precise cutting or order it at a hardware store.)
