BF3 extreemly low FPS

Go to solution Solved by lx_srs,

I just reloaded my machine, and im having a little problem with BF3.

Windows update grabbed the AMD 11.5 driver (i think), and that worked great. I could push about 60FPS on med-high settings on my 6870. It did give me an error when starting saying that it recomended i updated the drivers.

I went to the AMD website and downloaded the recomended driver (14.04), but now it runs at a max of 5FPS. In MSI afterburner it shows the GPU is still at idle.

All other games (WOT, CS:GO, TF2, LOL ect) run just fine.

Any suggestions?

Go into the folder where the game is installed. Find the DirectX redistributable, and run it as administrator.  This works for me every time a game runs poorly.

This is going to sound like a really dumb question because it probably is a dumb question, I'm having exactly the same problem,

I'm trying to use your solution but I can't find the Directx Redistributable. I can find the directx folder, and then redist but where

am I supposed to go from there? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

E:\Origin\games\Battlefield 3\__Installer\directx\redist

Note that I installed BF3 on my HDD, I have my OS on an SSD. Your "games" folder is most-likely in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games (Just program files if you have a 32 bit system.)

I am also having this problem, except I am getting less than 1FPS, more like 1FPM. This better work.

Spoiler

Case Bitfenix Ghost, Mobo Asus Maximus VIII Ranger, CPU i7 6700K @4.2 Ghz cooled by Arctic cooling Freezer i30, (barely). GPU Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 @1519Mhz core, RAM 16Gb Crucial Ballistix CL16 @2400Mhz. SSD 128GB Sandisk Ultra Plus as my OS drive. HDD's  1TB  Seagate ST31000524AS its OEM, 3TB Seagate Barracuda, 2x 500GB WDC Blue (RAID 0)

If it isn't working absolutely perfectly, according to all your assumptions, it is broken.
