How does one do that?

 

There are many ways such as downloading an Icon Pack from the play store and then using a custom launcher, like nova launcher, aviate, or themer. 

(For android)

I think it depends on your phone, on the iPhone it's the home button + Sleep button, but I don't think it'll be the same on a samsung for example

I went into my settings>buttons>power menu and just enabled screenshot, and then in the power menu you get when you hold the sleep button you can just click screenshot

On windows phone its powebutton and volume up at the same time.
