There are some REALLY nice looking Ultrabooks out there, the Lenovo X1 Carbon comes to mind. Also, if you really need the OS you can dual boot.

True but the only thing i was going to use it for is posting in the forums and youtube for when im not on my main system. Any recomendations? Pref. price range no more that $300 since its just for browsing really.

While Macbooks [especially the Pros] are very good computers, they are expensive... But imo worth it if you like Mac OS ^^

Unless you love OS X, I would just get a nice ultrabook or laptop convertible (like the Yoga 2) since you can get better performance and a ton more applications to use.

In that case buy the cheapest nicest looking ultrabook or laptop (secondhand if necessary) and put linux on it.  Ubuntu will do all that and is very light on system resources so you won't need a big processor or lots of ram.

I've never seen a new macbook go one sale.  In fact Where I live I don't think I have seen any apple products on sale.

iPad doesn't have the full browser experience and they have no real keyboards, except you're willing to shell out extra cash for a keyboard dock, AND THE PRICE IS OVER 300$.

@OP: A chromebook would be a solid choice, and I've heard that you can re-install the OS to Linux or Windows.

@urbellium: Never ask for MacBook/Mac advice on this forum, you'll be bombarded with Windows fanboys who have no regard for what Mac truly is. You're better off asking on another forum which is more neutral.

yep, If you want positive advice on buying mac book your better off getting advice from the macrumours, macworld or mac-forums websites.  otherwise you will get the same advice from just about any other tech website as you do here.

Go into an apple store with a ski mask on and a gun, and then you can get one for WAY cheaper

They'll still try to make you buy Apple Care even if there is a gun to their head.

If you are literally just browsing forums and YouTube, you can skate away with a Chromebook easy. The Acer C720 seems to be the most popular because of how easy you can switch out the SSD and install Linux, etc. However, if you want something that opens a few more doors for the future, you may want to spend a little bit more money and grab a decent i3 on sale with 4gb-6gb of RAM. With that said, if you think all you will ever need is internet browsing, Chromebook is an amazing budget option. If you think you may kick your self, then think to spend a little more for a quality CPU.
