Hello nice people,

These are the parts I have selected right now. My budget is ~1700 Euro

My plan is to buy a 1x 280mm cooler for CPU and 1x 240/360mm for GPU once the Corsair HG10 comes out.

I can't use PCPartPicker where I live but feel free to post PCPP builds! (Take UK or Germany pricing).

Type               Item                                   Price (EUR)
CPU                Intel® Core™ i5-4690K                  220
Motherboard        GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD7 TH                240
Memory             Crucial 16 GB DDR3-1600 Kit            150
GPU                Sapphire R9 290X 4GB Battlefield 4     480
SSD                Crucial MX100, 512 GB SSD              190
Case               Lian Li PC-B16B                        220
PSU                Seasonic P-660, 660W                   160

Total              -                                     1660

Any types of comments are greatly appreciated...

Please do recommend AIO cooling solutions!

I have selected the Gigabyte UD7 here but I'm inclined to go with the UD5-BK as it has gone through better factory testing, has a Killer NIC and is cheaper.

The UD7 only seems to provide a better on-board GPU chip?

:]

onboard?

That depends on the Intel CPU

you are using the 290X, you won't need the on board other than for troubleshooting purposes

8GB RAM

you don't need HDD? 512GB can really fill up really fast

i would get an hdd and also as i see it there is no room for the mentioned cooling solutions in your budget but maybe i read it wrong

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

GPU: MSI GTX1080 Ti Aero @ 2 GHz (watercooled) CPU: Ryzen 5600X (watercooled) RAM: 32GB 3600Mhz Corsair LPX MB: Gigabyte B550i PSU: Corsair SF750 Case: Hyte Revolt 3

Noticed the casing is pretty expensive

Corsiar casing are like 150-160 euros

with a budget of 1700 euros and your current setup already hit 1660 is really bad

Nothing wrong with splurging a bit on a kick-ass case. They are meant to last a while.

The cooling solutions will be bought when the HG10 comes out, I suspect this to be end of summer but I cba waiting that long.

They are on a separate budget, but seeing that AIO coolers don't go overboard anyways made me set no budget.

My main system is a laptop with 512GB and that was enough but yea apparently games have really grown in size the last couple of years.

I'll get a HDD :)

And yes I know on-board graphics are pretty much useless, thats why I'm inclined to go with a UD5 instead of a UD7. (I'm pretty much asking if theres anything that the UD7 provides over the UD5 rather than on-board GPU. I can't see it).

I know it's too much RAM but I selected it anyway. I guess I got caught up in the moment.

:]

UD7 has Thunderbolt ports which are really pointless unless you have HDD which uses ThunderBolt cables
