STEAM SUMMER SALE 2014 (Sale over, open discussion)

Askew
Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Please note this is the thread for all SSS content.

Thank you Askew. I'm now using it! :D

And thank you for reminding me to update the thing, I've had it for maybe a couple years now and never updated it, needless to say there's a few minor bugs that affect me in certain parts of the interface where changes have been made.

Picked up Battlefield 2 and System Shock 2.

Might pick up BioShock Infinite if it goes 75% off again. Convince me.  :D

Man, when I played system shock 2 my monitor was a 14'' CRT with speakers hanging from either side! :D

Good (and scary at the time) game I remember well, you won't catch me on no ghost spaceship no sir fuck that.

I reckon Infinite will come back on the last day, it's definitely worth a play, (great soundtrack too, and VO is top notch, all the sounds in the game are in fact good.)

Is the Bad Company 2 multiplayer still alive? I kind of skipped the bad company games and BF4 and Hardline basically ruined my favourite FPS franchise (thanks, EA -.-)

They always do, the last day is the best day normally.

So I finally extensively played One Way Heroics. I know someone mentioned it was just a game made in RPG Maker that you could probably get for free, but I'm not sure that's so true.

All I have to say is I love it. It's difficult, fun, and not very repetitive. It seriously reminds me of games like Path of Exile, where re-rolling your character is encouraged and expected (rather than you being attached to them all the time).

Thief, Wolfenstein and Portal 2 are probably worth getting. Flash and community sales are pretty disappointing. This is the last day, right?

I think the confusion comes from the "Final Day!" thing on the Steam Summer Adventure page. It's the last day for the competition, but not the last day for the sale.

Oh, okay. So 48 hours to go.

I can see chivalry selling high today.

Yup. I should go back and play some duels again. Slaying newbs is incredibly fun, especially if they have no clue about dragging and think that you're cheating.

Chivalry is fun, but after playing for a while I find the sluggish nature of it becomes tedious. That's probably why my playtime isn't very high.

Sluggish? How? If you take the right weapon (like the greatsword) you can alternate bewteen instant hits and extreme delays, which is pretty awesome. Also, you have to be always on the move and you can pull off stuff like reversed overheads, where you hit enemies while you run away from them. The collision and hit detection problems have also been fixed for the most part.

I would get it, but I've owned the Valve Pack since forever and have all Valve games.
