The Official "Rate My Rig" Thread(RMR)

BCreation

Before I start, I want to say this idea was from MdX MaxX and his "Show Off Your Rig!" thread. This thread is for people to post what they are planning on building OR what they have built, and want other members to give some suggestions on what they should do to improve. For example, I would start off my saying I am planning on building a gaming computer. It consist of:

i7 3770k

Noctua NH D14

MSI MPOWER

Dual GTX 670s

16GB of Corsair memory

AX1200

Coolermaster Storm Trooper.

1600 x 900 Screen.

Then, another member would reply to this post, and give suggestions, such as I dont need two 670s, I don't need an AX1200, I don't need a 3770k, and I don't need 16gb of ram. He or she would also give a final rating, and then post their current computer, or a computer they are planning on building. This will go on and on.

I hope this thread actually works :) So feel free to post below when you see this!

P.S. Excuse the clarity, as there probably is none, but I you guys should get the point. And no hating!

I noticed that you have two GTX 670's. I thought, maybe because a single 670 is awesome as it is, maybe you could send me one? j/k :P

It's definitely about twice or more as good as mine (specs are under the "First Build EVER" thread.

Any water cooling in the future?

Oh, and I HATE YOUR RIG! lol.. (just kidding.. again)

This would get a 4/5 for me. a 5/5 would be with a custom waterloop, but that's just me. A lot of people don't like water loops because there are multiple points of failure, and leakage would be devastating.

The only thing I would change about your rig is lower your PSU, an 850, or indeed the Corsair 860i, would be more than adequate, and instead spend the money on a good IPS 1080p monitor. Resolution is the most important thing to upgrade to make your games look better by far.

Here's My Build that should be getting here tomorrow or the next day:

Intel 3570k Processor ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116504 )

MSI Mpower Motherboard( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130660 )

NZXT Switch 810 Full-Tower Case( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146088 )

Some random 1600mhz 8 gig memory that came free with the board

Crucial M4 256gig SSD ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148526 )

WD Caviar Green 1.5TB HDD ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822236380)

Seasonic X-Series 850wt PSU ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151102)

Corsair H100i CPU Cooler ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835181032)

And last but not least!

EVGA Nvidia GTX 690 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130781)

(I got some high quality thermal paste, but it doesn't need to be linked really)

Used for pure gaming.

Sorry OP. I think you should seriously get a new monitor, the one you have right now isn't even 1080p which is the gaming standard right now. 2 x GTX670 is overkill. Get one of those Korean 27 inch screens at 2560x1440 and a GTX670 4GB VRAM version and you're good to go!

I guess I didn't make it clear that the build I listed was an example to show how this thread works. Right now I'm out of cash and am still waiting on buying a new computer. Other than that I somewhat know(I'm not going to say I'm a genius)how to build a balanced system. No hard feelings! :)

Finally, someone who's on a tight budget and still squeezes in a SSD.

Overall, that's a solid build!...Wheres your motherboard? Or are you reusing something.

8/10 for a budget build.

I have a nice Breville computer. I play League of Legends on it and it only takes ~5 minutes to load... it's water cooled but for some reason gets up to 100 celsius, the water itself I mean.

But hey, for $125 that's pretty good! And it comes with an auto-off function, once it hits 100 celsius

...

Just kidding, build in description under my name ;)
