Looking for a 240mm Rad for Corsair Obsidian 250D

Hey guys,

 

finally summer arrived in Austria and temperatures rise. My sister has a decent build on her office desk, but she wants it cooler and much more quiet. Although the H100i is doing a good job and a 750Ti Twin Frozr is behaving really cool, I want to have a project (my 3rd LC) for holidays. ;-)

 

Existing parts:

CPU: i5 4670K Cooler: Corsair H100i

GPU: MSI GTX 750Ti OC Twin Frozr (yes, I am going to LC a 750Ti, just for fun)

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z87N- Wifi (Changed the Module to an Intel 7260 ac)

RAM: Kingston Beast 1600Mhz, 2x4GB

SSD: Samsung 840 Pro, 256GB

Case: Corsair Obsidian 250D

Power Supply: Corsair VS 350

 

Now my first question for you LC pros is:

Which radiator fits instead of the 100i? It can only be up to 28mm Depth and in the Corsair video and blog they don't show a parts list. I also tried to check every company I know... can't find a thin radiator

Second Question:

Which tube size shall I use? Since the hardware isn't that potent and there isn't much space...

you can't be serious....

I'm from aus and summer never touches my gpu and cpu that badly and i'm using a 212 evo. your fine the 750 ti never hits 60 at most and a h100i is a fine cooler

I am from AUT, not AUS ;-) and as I said, everything is ok with temps but I need a project and she is fine with it ;-)

 

BF4 maxes at 55° C for the CPU and with the GPU you are right, 60°C after 2h of gameplay.

but still seems like such a waste you can get a new gpu for the same price as the loop parts that would be a smarted choice

You are totally right there, still I am bored and my rig is fine since I went custom last year (thx to Ghost again at this point)

Maybe we should switch gpu so that it makes sense, But then she needs to change psu too... And it adds up

Temps wont improve much if at all over a H100i, gonna be a tight fit too, but if you're looking for a project, it'll be a fun challenge

It is so cool, this card runs at 26 degrees celsius idle, even when it has 35 outside, ambient in house about 22.

This card with a lc block is definitely fun and i want to try

Have you looked at XSPC EX series radiators?

 

Those are fairly slim, and could probably fit in a 250D

That would be great, although I already looked at their side and it says:

 

Dimensions: 121 x 35.5 x 275mm (WxDxH)

 

I really wonder which Radiator Corsair used there...and why nobody in youtube chat or blog asked about it... to bad that they didn't list the parts in that build.

 

 

Damn...I just don't find a fitting rad... there was another guy in the forum who used an old used one...so no chance there...
