4k graphic card <3 monitors>

Go to solution Solved by Peter Vaughan Truslow,

well after a bit of looking, the only option for 3 mini display port or display port connections is a 295X2, so two cards is definitely necessary. will update when I find a good pair of dual miniDP options\

Edit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161449 two of these would do well and wouldn't break the bank. you would need a set of minidisplayport to displayport cables or adapters but that wouldn't be hard to get

Hi! I have made a post earlier but my question was not really answered. I am planning to get 3 4k displays and I do not GAME. I do light video editing, coding, and web browsing. I would like a recommendation of what gpu set up should i get to push 3 4k display out monitors at 6o hertz.(NOT FOR GAMING PURPOSES)> Please consider the outputs on the graphic card please... Like is there enough outputs to run the set up.

How much are you willing to spend?

Does your video editing use any CUDA or AMD's equivalent (I forgot its name)? If it does, look into a GTX 770, GTX 780 or an AMD 280X, 290 or 290X. I am not even sure if there's enough outputs on one card for all of those displays to run at 60Hz though you could probably get a hub. Maybe you could even get an R9-295X2...

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

um i would say the 295x2 but that is way out of your price range, i would say maybe a 280x and a display port hub along with dp of your igpu on your mobo if you can

I'm not 100% sure that's how crossfire works though, I'm pretty sure only the ports on 1st card are usable. Then again I could be completely wrong, I'm running crossfire cards but I've never tried it.

Good luck finding one.  :P  I bought one right before the mining boom happened, only to find that when I decided I wanted to go crossfire Asus discontinued them due to GPU shortages.

I have Nvidia, but I'm pretty sure you only need crossfire if you want one card to offload onto the other. last I checked systems with more than four monitors were a thing.

I know on Nvidia with SLI, the connections on both cards are functional.

it can be done

you can link the primary monitor to the first GPU

and then plug the second monitor to the other GPU

and you can just swap the outputs to display from the screen resolution page or window
