I am building a PC on a budget of $600. I want to play minecraft and other games like battlefield 4 at 1080p smoothly. I also want to browse the web and watch movies and videos at 1080p. Can anyone recommend a configuration (graphics card, processor, motherboard etc.) ?

It might be cheaper than this for you (I'm using my preferred retailers), but here it is.

CPU:  AMD A10-7700K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($159.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard:  Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-DS2 Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard  ($80.99 @ Newegg)
Memory:  A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory  ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Case:  NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($45.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply:  SeaSonic 400W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($45.98 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive:  Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer  ($21.80 @ Amazon)
Operating System:  Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)  ($89.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $594.15
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

EDIT: You could put a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO in, but it was about $4 over for me. But again, it might be cheaper for you, since I am using my preferred retailers.

@tmcclelland455 what do you think?

Looks pretty good. Other than none of the colors match and the PSU isn't modular.

Its not like there is a side panel, and it's a 600$ build. If he tucks them away properly it won't be much of an issue.

Good point though although i'd only start considering looks and modularity starting at 1000$+.

They're really minor complaints, but I get a little OCD with this kind of stuff. The OP might not even care, but I do. :P Mine is mostly color matched. I think the PSU is bare metal colored.

So which one of your builds is that? I see that you have multiple, which one is you main one?

I understand your OCD. I don't really care about the looks as i will have (don't have one yet, waiting for haswell e) will be under my desk, just like my bros.

I was talking about the one I had made for the OP being color matched. The one I have that is the most color matched is probably HELIOS though. Bon Chi Chi is my main one (my netbook).

That doesn't have a graphics card right? If you really want you can even leave the optical drive out, not many standard users who use that anymore.

If he wants to play BF4 @ 1080p, he's gonna need a dedicated GPU.

The A10 can do pretty good. I'd say maybe medium settings, no AA, and 50 FPS or higher.

And I put the optical drive in just in case the OP didn't have access to another computer to make a bootable flash drive from.

Playable... but not ideal.

I must have been thinking another game. Disregard what I said about framerates, OP.

Ah, alright.

As for the A10, that's pretty impressive.

I goofed. I was thinking another game. My bad. :P

Looks pretty good. Other than none of the colors match and the PSU isn't modular.

Honestly a modular power supply wont really be benefiting you because your gonna end up using all the connectors. :/
