Tenkeyless (without the num block) or normal layout? Backlights?

To be honest, i'm still in search for a keyboard with browns myself not really sure which one to get. My favorite so far is the ducky shine 2 or dragon.

If you can afford and get them in australia, either Filco oder Ducky are a really good choice. But there are many many other good companys on the market right now.

Do you got a particular budget in mind?

Ducky Shine 2 and Coolermaster series are both great brands of mechanical keyboards.

There are a lot of other good companies that make great keyboards.

Defiantly want the num pad, not overly concerned about back light, would be nice as long as they aren't to bright and I'll look at any price range :)

I myself has had the G710+ for a while now and it's beast and pleasure to use. The thing is beautiful and I highly recommend it.

Excellent quality. The thing feels rugged and is on the heavy side. It feels like you could take it and smack someone with it.

Linus actually did an unboxing on it and it's the keyboard that Slick has and will 'never' use because it's just so nice he doesn't wanna ruin it.

This is the actual reason I got it^^^^

That look like a win to me :) whats the difference between the shine zero and shine 2 models? i noticed some of the shine 2's had num pads and others didn't.

Well as far as i know, correct me if i'm wrong: the zero line has better/newer stabilizers for the keys. Also the zero only comes with the num pad. Shine 2 is a little bit older and has both versions

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe Ducky Zero series is its entry level KB range, followed by the G2 Pro series which is mid range, with the Shine II being its high end range.....someone correct me if I'm wrong....

Nah, no mistakes, you are correct :D

Ducky will be adding 2187 (a tenkeyless Zero) and 2108s (a shining version of Zero) soon to their line-up. The Zero series may be entry level KB, but the price of a 2108s just looks so tempting for a shining keyboard. XD

IF OP wants backlit KB's, then the Ducky Shine II should be more than sufficient, I have a Shine II 78 Version and it's my pride and joy. But, if backlight isn't mandatory, the Filco Majestouch 2 series would be good too. I've just gotten a Majestouch Ninja (with letters/symbols printed on front of keycaps intead of the usual top) Cherry Brown and it's awesome. Been playing UT3 (my fave FPS game test) and I like it! Mind you, I'm used to Red and Black (my two fave switches) I'm enjoyomg the gaming experience with the Browns, much to my surprise as the Blue I have is awesome for typing, but not quite so for gaming. Sure it gets the job done, but somehow, gaming with Red, Black and Brown is more satisfying. Here's a pic of the Majestouch Ninja, a serious looking no-nonsense utilitarian look to it...

But if you want the bling bling of backlight, Ducky Shine II should be the one to look at....one thing other KB makers should borrow from Ducky and FILco is this, give us a plastic mold KB cover with the KBs' Theycan be used as dust covers when the KB aren't in use. Even the mid range Ducky DK9087G2 Pro that I have came with dust cover. CM should take a cue from this....

Would recommend the G710+ as well. If you don't mind fingerprints on it though lol.

The G710+ is nice, but the shiny surface is a real turn off especially when you have fingerprints and smudges on it, wonder what the peeps at Logitech were thinking when they were designing it. A matted surface is preferable as light scratches and prints can hardly be seen. If OP wants backlight, then a CM Storm Quick Fire TK should be worth considering, it has a modified numpad despite being TKL:

But if OP wants the full bling effect, the Ducky Shine II range would serve him well, excellent build quality and made to last, I've yet to hear of RMA due to bad LED, switches, faulty or shoddy workmanship. I simply love my Ducky Shine II...

I love my das keyboard with brown keys.  I game on it but i also type a lot and it's a dream to type on.  The construction quality is fantastic.  The only drawback some have said about it is the glossy finish (not on the keys, just on the board around them).  I actually don't mind the glossiness.  It's at least worth checking out.
