I would like to use this power supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152036 to power 2 radeon 290 GPUs.

-Is it possible for 730 watts to power these cards?

-How could I attach these cards? I have 2x 6pin connectors. What would I do for the other card?

It's possible for a quality 730w to power the cards. If there aren't enough connectors, you could use adapters.

That isn't a quality unit though. You should generally stay far, far away from Raidmax psus anyway.

Never heard of that brand so no...any 650w will do however 650w only have an 2 gpu power 6+2 cables so you'll need to pony up and maybe get a 750w from Corsair or Be Quiet.

750 watts is more than enough for a pair of 290's, but i'd recommend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139051&cm_re=750w_power_supply-_-17-139-051-_-Product instead of the your original choice. And to your second question your r9's should come with some molex to 6 pin power adapters that you could use

Not 80 plus rated, nope. Get 800W and an 80 plux rated power supply.

Well, the efficiency doesn't really matter when it comes to how much power it can deliver. While I would agree that you should get 80+ bronze are above, it isn't necessary.

Efficiency and 80Plus ratings are more useful as a metric for estimating the quality of the components used in the PSU. Instead of saying "the efficiency doesn't really matter" you should be asking "why can't this unit hit even 80Plus Standard efficiency?". The answer being that the unit is crap.

Don't Crossfire 2 high end GPUs on this Raidmax power supply. If you need suggestions for good alternative power supplies just ask.

If it matters, this is the actual model of the power supply. Not sure how I mixed that up. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152042 . The guy who is selling me the 290's also has a 1000w PSU. Would this be any good, or should I get something of better quality?

Hmm.. sketchy. The other Raidmax PSU you just linked is at least 80Plus Bronze. But you'll want more than 700W for 290 crossfire.

Also, what are the 290's the guy is selling you? Are they reference designs, because you should probably stay away from those unless you're going to replace the coolers. And have they been used for mining much? Because that's also something to stay away from.

They are reference designs. I plan on watercooling them in the near future. And he said about a month of mining on them. Not too worried about the mining part, I'll just replace the thermal paste and keep an eye on the fans for now.
