I was browsing at my local Best Buy yesterday and saw one of these in the corsair gaming section.

I use Xbox controllers to play games like Elden Ring and Jedi Survivor on my PC. The Xbox Controllers don't last more than a year or two without getting some kind of stick drift or button sticking. I take very good care of my tech but I just cannot get the Xbox controllers to last.

I have never heard of the brand, but the display model they had felt very high quality. For $179 it is about the same as a pro controller, but has way better features for PC gaming. Has anyone here ever had one or had a bad experience with one? I will watch some reviews on my own, but I figured I would check the forum too for some advice.

Should I stick with the Xbox controller or switch to a Scuf for PC?

Ooh, I was looking at those in the past but nowhere sold them at the time. Scuf are owned by Corsair. Take that as you like.

The main reason I wanted it is because the controllers are in PS style layout but with Xbox buttons. To me that is the best of both worlds, as I prefer the PS stick layout but XB buttons have better PC game compatibility. I feel that is the main reason for them existing.

Scuf pissed me off during covid when they were like "oh yeah we're not dealing with any warranty replacements cuz covid".

It was a full custom controller too so like $250.  For that much money I expect them to be like "we're sending you out a new one right away, you can return your old one in the next 90 days".  So they had a chance to be a hero but ended up being a zero and I won't buy their shit again.

So to also answer the original question: the hardware reliability is the same as the stock controllers.

It doesn't have Hall Effect joysticks, so don't expect it to last any better in terms of stick drift. If that is important to you, consider a controller that does have Hall Effect joysticks. Seems like the Vader 3 Pro is well regarded among those options.

Damn... for a controller at that price... it would suck if it drift fast / often

I had a claim with Philips for a Hue bulb during Covid. Took them 4 months to respond, but I was sent a replacement bulb overnight after they did 👌
