Doesn't seem to be anything in the monitor settings for me

This is from your monitors manual. Try setting Smart Energy Saving to off.

As the title implies, the monitor dims automatically if the content shown is dark and returns to normal once bright.

It's an immense pain to deal with this when I'm watching a movie, the scene is at night, and suddenly the screen goes so black that all I see is silhouettes. I've tried searching for a way to disable it forever, still haven't found any. Might be in some way linked to NVIDIA because I remember it being fixed, then I installed NVIDIA drivers and the issue reappeared immediately after.

Drivers are all up to date.

Specs:

- RTX 3060 12G

- i3-12100F on an MSI B660M-A Pro (BIOS date 2023-09-14, a few versions behind https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B660M-A-DDR4/support)

- 2x16 3200mhz DDR4

- RM850x

Monitor affected:

LG IPS LED 23MP48HQ-P

Running Windows 11 Pro, no updates behind

Yep, that was it. Apparently I should start consulting manuals more often, thanks for the help!

Excellent! 😄  Glad it worked.  I had to do the same with my own 3 LG monitors.
