Is an A520 ryzen mobo good for beginner home servers?

I've just bought a ryzen 3 3200g for a beginner plex box, and now i just need a mobo. are a520 boards good for 3/4/5th gen upgradability?

Yes, a 520 board is a perfect match for that chip in terms of price and all else that way.
Now - IF you want, a B series board (B450/B550) would be nice too and have more features you can use but it's really up to you.
