Is my Brothers Pc okay for Modded Minecraft?

8462

My brother recently got an all in one pc for his Birthday and is wanting to play modded Minecraft with me. I myself have a pretty good gaming pc (Ryzen 5 7600, 4070) and know a decent bit about desktop processors and computers however his pc has an i5 13420H, which I know very little about how it does in games. I know the igpu Is relatively weak, and he has 8gb of ram but what kind of mod packs would be his “max” as it were? Also would there be much benefit to overclocking his igpu/cpu? I intend on adding stuff like sodium and optifine to the mod packs as well. Any help is greatly appreciated! Any questions just ask.

Does the Laptop not have a dedicated GPU?

Also you cannot overclock a H series CPU

THIS IS MY SIGNATURE

I believe minecraft is more CPU heavy than GPU, and its will be pretty fine running on your brother PC without any dedicated GPU (especially those 13th gen iGPU is pretty good). You may need to upgrade the ram to 16GB tho. anyway, your are your brother is using those Erying CPU + Mobos combo? since thats is a laptop CPU

There's probably not much you can do about the graphics (unless it's a mobile chip in a desktop for some reason), but more RAM never hurts. (If he has two sticks of memory, that would help the iGPU a little as well.)

I'd get that PC up to at least 16 gigs across two sticks.

If these mods don't cost anything, you might as well just try them and see how it goes. They won't run as well as on your desktop PC, but they should be playable at the very least.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

most mods will run fine on pc, unless its some big ones and also shaders are more intense than mods so he might use some low end shader like super duper vanilla shader will run fine
