i was wondering if anyone had a benchmarking suite recommendations (preferably free)

CPU/GPU - 3dmark lifetime free trial on Steam (run Time Spy!)

GPU - Heaven benchmark or Furmark

CPU - Cinebench R23 or Cinebench 2024

What's the use case? If it's just to see how fast your system is for how big an upgrade is, 3dmark and Benchmate are good options. For more workstation tasks, there's benchmarks specifically designed around them like blender and V-Ray.
