beyerdynamic DT 770 pro, good breathable ear pads?

Zohan2000

what are some good breathable earpads for the beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80 ohms? my head gets quite hot and sweaty so now the ear pads are quite smelly

did see that LTT got sponsored by wicked cushions, are they a good brand to replace the current smelly ear pads?

I normally take my ear pads off and wash them. I have the velour model so it's pretty easy. The ear pads can drastically change the sound, so be careful of that.

I have used Wicked Cushions and Dekoni, both are great products with the Dekoni being a bit more premium.  According to this Zreviews video where he tested every pad on many Beyerdynamic headphones, and cross referencing it with your need to get something breathable, you should get the Dekoni Elite Velour

I also just went to the Wicked Cushions website to look for pads for the dt770 and found these Wc FreeZe pads.  I will say that I previously would have thought the cooling gel thing to be a scam, however since using my Rode headphones that have it incorporated into them, I can say it works.  Don't get me wrong, I was still hot because it was the middle of the summer but they didn't retain heat like a pair of leather pads would. 10/10 would recommend this technology.

My experience with WC has been good over the years, I had a pair of synthetic protien pads on my headphones for a couple years with little issue, they eventually degraded but for the price and the fact that I was using them for several hours a day every day.... thing's wear out man.  A friend of mine who was on his computer all day every day even wore some stock Sennheiser pads down to flimsy fabric with plastic on his head, they ARE a wear item.
