Need to disable sound entirely and semi-permanently

MrSimplicity

Easiest way to put it is I have a co-worker who will sit and watch movies on full blast. So it sounds like a movie theater in the office. I have already tried disabling all playback devices but she figured that one out somehow. Is there anything I can do in Windows to just disable all sounds from playing at all.

Side note - I can't just get rid of the speaker and it's okay if she plugs in her headphones. If I have to disable everything entirely that's fine too but it cannot be a physical alteration to the motherboard or anything, it has to be purely software.

this is entirely the wrong way to escalate this issue. Setup a script to open porn at full volume instead

See I work blue collar. Everyone in the office would find that more entertaining, so that would solve absolutely nothing.

So you've tried doing something like this - disabling the audio output device from Device Manager?

We'll see if that works. That was gonna be my next move. Will that persist through a restart though? If so, then if she can figure that one out, I don't think I have any options left.

Have you tried talking to her/HR rather than sabotaging her PC?
