GPU overheating in SFF build…

Hi,

I bought a refurbished HP Pro/EliteDesk 600 G3 SFF from Amazon for 120. Then a RX 550 4G LP for 35. Budget build. ISSUE: The GPU keeps overheating and causing games to crash. I tried adjusting fan settings and it is still happening. Gets to like 92 or 93 Celsius then crashes. Took it apart and thermal paste seemed fine but maybe I could redo that? ANY OTHER TIPS? I know these things have poor airflow but I have seen many videos of dudes online with similar set-ups. Also card only draws 35-40 watts with a max of 50. One small fan.

Please give me some options or just tell me this was a failed experiment. Thanks!

I think it was mentioned the card was taken apart?

Are you sure the fan is spinning on th card?

Yes repaste

failing that reducing temps is there any room at all for an additional fan directed anywhere near where the gpu sits?

I unscrewed the four screws on bottom of GPU.

Yeah I was able to take the GPU apart and inspect old thermal paste job. I got fan running by tinkering with settings in afterburber. Thought that would solve it because initially I didn’t notice fan spinning at all but I wear headphones. Additional fans is something I am still trying to figure out. The case just doesn’t seem friendly to it…

Turns out it was air flow issue due to the ProDesk being a lame office PC . I removed the top panel and it runs between 60 and 70 Celsius instead of 87-93 Celsius like it was before. This is great news! Now I know nothing is wrong with the GPU or other components.

Thx for the help. Turns out it was just an air flow issue, which I was able to fix.
