Problem with my Noctua fans

lewoss

Hello

I recently bought the Noctua NF-A4x20 PWN to replace the Nidec Ultraflo fans in my PSU. When I now turn on the PSU it starts for like 3 seconds before shutting down and starting again.

Can anyone please help me?

I used this as a help.

Did you connect the tach wire?

If so you might be SOL, some PSUs will run the fan at full speed on powerup and verify the speed matches what the stock fan is supposed to spin at, if you install a slower one it will see a slower speed and consider it faulty.

Of course, no feedback is even worse than wrong feedback.

I meant it as "if you hadn't plugged it then do that, if it's already plugged it probably won't work".

Server hardware tends to be picky about things working exactly as designed for reliability reasons.
