Just need confirmation on if and how I screwed up.

So... bear with me please, I never asked anything on any forum or such before. Not even sure if I'm doing this right.

I am building a pc for the first time... was going quite smoothly until I realized my GPU apparently does not fit inside my case. It can't connect flush with the socket, the metal prongs at the end of the back hit the case and won't let it go down into the socket the way it needs to. Hopefully I explained that well enough. I checked what I could find of the specs and nothing I could find outright tells me that it shouldn't fit but I'm quite sure that that's the issue. The case is a masterbox 520 mesh from master cooler, and the GPU is a 3060ti ventus 2x.

I'm new to this, so I imagine it is a rather simple or dumb issue but can anyone more knowlegeable please confirm for me if the card simply won't fit the case? And if so, do the specs show it somewhere? Appreciate it.

There's a slight gap between the motherboard edge & the back end of the case.

Those 2 tabs section should go in that gap.

Try putting the GPU by lining up & inserting those 2 tabs into the aforementioned gap first, then line up the pins with the slot after.

Here's a review of the case, where the reviewer uses a 3080

Could you take a picture further out please, this doesn't look right at all! The 3060ti ventus 2x should definitely fit in this case without any issues.

Looks like the tabs at the bottom of the IO plate (the metal plate at the back of the card) has gotten a bit bent. All you have to do is bend them back a little but and it'll fit. Just carefully bend them with some pliers.

You definitely didn't insert properly the GPU, as if ever the case is too small it will be blocked on the other (front) side, the distance between the PCIe slot and the back is always the same on all cards !

Don't do this^

Don't muck with the tabs. The cards are built to specification and literally millions (probably billions) of cards have fitted just fine with the bend in them.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

Nevermind... went back to it and quickly understood my stupidity. The fit was just tighter than I expected so I thought the prongs went on the outside since it didn't seem to fit inside.

Thank you all for the quick and polite replies regardless.

(Now... what do I do HERE? Am I supposed to close the topic or something... I've no idea how forums work so I apologize in advance.) 😅

Eh well, just pick one of the good answer as solution.
Or just leave the topic, it'll get buried under new ones soon enough.

Whichever floats your boat.
