Logitech MX Master 3S internals swap for higher polling rate

Hi!

I really like the form and feel of the MX Master 3S but the polling rate and acceleration is just way to low for me as I will do both productivity and light/medium gaming.

Is it possible to swap the internals from a gaming mouse into the 3S to solve these issues? I would preferably like to keep the magnetic scroll wheel as I really like the feel of it. I'm not against spending a lot of time on it and some money so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

you would have to mod it pretty heavily and have some decent knowledge of how mice work but it would probably be possible with enough time. it also depends on both mice though.

Definitely not worth the time or effort.

Why don't you just get a mouse for gaming and another one for productivity?

As the owner of an M3S, G203, G305, and G Pro Wireless, this is the way to go.

 

If you don't want to spend a bunch on a mouse, the G203 is shockingly good. I HATE wired/heavy mice with a passion after using my GPW for several years, however Logitech NAILED the G203's weight and they went with a lightweight non-braided USB cable. I ended up getting a G203 to use on one of my secondary PCs and liked it enough that I bought a second one for my primary just because I don't feel like going through the effort of dismantling my GPW to replace the failing side button assembly.

 

The G305 is also nice, however it is somewhat ass-heavy with conventional alkaline/NiMH batteries so if that might bother you, you may want to invest in something like Energizer Ultimate Lithiums for it.

I currently have an M3S and a Razer Basilisk v3. I can't imagine trying to game with a Master mouse, it'd be horribly uncomfortable.

I've spent quite a bit of time using my M3S on the go which does involve some gaming and it's actually not as horrible as I expected. Once you get your sensitivities dialed in better it's really not that bad TBH. Ironically, I use it via Bluetooth with my laptop (an IdeaPad Slim 3) and somehow, some way, it's more responsive with this particular BT connection than it is with the dongle on my Precision 3420 or my M1 Mac Mini via BT... Which makes a negative amount of sense.
