I'm really hoping i don't mess up something when installing the GPU.

Haven't got around to buying it yet - been swamped at work these days.

@RevGAM

Sorry I only noticed this now but I'm not sure about it.

The ASUS TUF RTX 3060 I was looking at I noticed the front grill where the fans are is made of metal.

If it's made of metal wouldn't that potentially cause higher temperature ?

I'm trying to choose between these 2 cards

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Graphics-DisplayPort-Military-Grade-Certification/dp/B0985VND1G

OR

https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-REV2-0-WINDFORCE-GV-N3060GAMING-OC-12GD/dp/B0971BG25M/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?crid=35AUYLZUUPQ64&keywords=gigabyte+rtx+3060&qid=1694764225&sprefix=gigabyte+rtx+3060%2Caps%2C230&sr=8-11

Which do you guys think is a better option ?

Also which has better cooling ?

In terms of cooling which is better ?

Was curious because they both have 3 fans but i can't really find any notable differences between them.

a 3060 can be cooled with a single fan on the gpu so I wouldn't worry. Also why don't you want to get the 3060 ti any longer?

I'd rather have the extra VRAM.

12 GB is always a win in my book especially since i'm not going beyond 1080p in gaming.

if you're not going beyond 1080p then there would be no need for the extra vram since in games it's mostly used for higher texture settings with higher resolution. I would rather get a better gpu (you could even get a 3070 in this budget) with less vram if it means more performance at 1080p

Yeah... meanwhile jedi survivor and hogwarts managed to max out the 6 GB in my current GPU.

Jedi Survivor - i had some nasty missing textures - there were a few areas where the game has colored polygons because of the lack of VRAM.

Why ?

The RTX 3060 -12 GB gets 50-60 FPS at native and 80-90 FPS with DLSS in jedi survivor.

Fair enough then. If you want to get a new gpu you could get that one but the 6700 xt is better than the 3060 for a bit more (about on par with the 3060 ti but with 12 gigs of ram)

But if you wanna stick with nvidia then get a 3060 12gb. You don't need to get a three fan version but if you do then get this one Asus TUF GAMING OC V2 GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 12 GB Video Card (TUF-RTX3060-O12G-V2-GAMING) - PCPartPicker

I mean shouldn't the 3 fan version like the ASUS TUF have better cooling compared to like the ASUS DUAL or GIGABYTE EAGLE models which have 2 ?

Well i like the ASUS TUF's design, only thing that i was kinda worried was the front being made out of metal.

Not sure if when gaming and temps rise - since it's metal not plastic if it will cause more heat and higher temps compared to other versions like the GIGABYTE WINDFORCE.

I mean is the 4060 that bad ?

I saw some benchmarks on YT - seems to get 10 FPS more in games than the 3060 regular.
