Like for example if I were on a 4080, 4070, 3080, 3070 - frame generation would have been automatically enabled ?

 

Like I would not need to enable the hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling to use it if it was a different GPU ?

no it was most likely on for your friends as default as they built a new system whereas you upgraded yours

So the 3000 series can't do frame generation ?

 

I tried googling this and said that 3000 series can't do DLSS 3 but they can do frame generation.

DLSS 3 is frame generation. 3000 series can't do it unless it's with an unofficial mod

Isn't DLSS 3.5 frame generation ?

 

When googling says 2000 series and 3000 series can do DLSS 3.5 but they can't do DLSS 3.

no DLSS 3.5 is ray reconstruction and 20 series cards and up can do that and it focuses on ray tracing

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.
