Oh ok, no problem. 👍🙂

I will wait more, maybe @filpo has more info on MSI AB because i am not really very familiar with it either. 😁😅

You could try searching for videos/ articles about it.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

Oh i already did.

But either i'm doing something wrong.. or i don't know... i can't get the settings like CPU, GPU, temps to display in-game with MSI.

There should be options for stats overlay...

@RevGAM

Does DLSS give ANY performance increase at native lower resolutions ?

I have 2 monitor : 1 at 1080p native and 1 at 1680 x 1050 native.

When i switch to the one at 1680 x 1050 i don't see any performance increase in games with DLSS.

Is that normal ?

It’s not a normal res so yes that’s sort of normal. But it should give some performance increase

Should i use in MSI the auto-mode ?

The user defined puts the fans at 40% i think if i use that.

I think my idle temps will drop a lot i if i use that.

Leave the fan speeds on msi afterburner

I finished installing the GPU ! 😁🏆

I am confused about something though.

When i booted the PC - MSI Afterburner said it was around 39-40'C with the FANS OFF.

In MSI i clicked the little gear icon where it said "user define" but then i clicked it again and it's set to 0% fan speed.

But my temps is now 37'C instead of 40'C - is that normal ?

What should i do ?

4060 fan speed.jpg

all normal

You need to first tick them in the OSD setting and then press the tick for ‘show in graph’

Ok but this is what i don't understand.

If DLSS is supposed to give a boost how come i didn't see ANY boost in SPIDERMAN and HITMAN 3 ?

I mean it was :

- SPIDERMAN with HIGH setting - 100 FPS with DLSS OFF and 100 FPS with DLSS ON

- HITMAN 3 - 125 FPS with DLSS OFF and 125 FPS with DLSS ON

Like why is there no increase ?

Maybe because your monitor's res is a weird one (1050) and not 1080

You mean DLSS doesn't know how to ușe that resolution ?

I mean shouldn't there be any increase ?

Or is 100 FPS and 125 FPS already top much and DLSS can't give more ?

that's already pretty high and most upscaling techniques don't really benefit much if at all at such framerates so yes, I think it might be a limit

I will test out in other games to see.

Question : if there is no FPS boost in any other games does that mean something is wrong with the GPU itself ?

no it's something with the engine so a driver update should be carried out

With the frame rates that high dlss won't make a difference. And at 1080p or 1050p it won't make a difference

Also i tried using frame generation in some games but i can't.

When i googled it says i have to enable hardware-accelerated scheduling in Windows.

Is that true ?

Also would i fuck up with the OS If i do that ?

don't think so. But you don't really need frame gen unless it's in games with less than about 30 or 45 fps

No, not exactly what i meant.

I mean shouldn't frame gen be automatically enabled ?

Like without having to do it in Windows ?
