[Ghetto Build] "Almost too ghetto"

WolfDeville

Hey guys. Today I had nothing to do and was pretty bored, so naturally I decided to do something stupid :D

I decided I wanted to build something so disgustingly ghetto and I think I did an OK job :)

Stuff I used:

Intel Core i3 2100

XFX Radeon HD 6950 Double Dissipation 2GB

ASUS P8H61-M LX

6 year old Corsair Vengeance 2GB RAM stick mixed with a random Kingston 4GB stick

AYWUN 750W Bronze power supply that literally blew up in a friends rig but is somehow working for me :D

Western Digital Green 2TB Hard Drive

Random shelf (I think from Ikea) that I found outside

Pics (Sorry for poor quality, they were taken with my dying Xperia Z):

Made a hole to feed cables through. First attempt failed because my cheap ass drill couldn't go through some hard wood

lol "hard wood"

And that's pretty much it. This setup is pretty amazing if i'm honest, it runs bf4 at 50-60fps medium-high settings @ 1080p so I'm quite happy with it being a secondary rig if something should ever happen to my main rig.

Thanks for checking out my thread :D

WOW

You should just buy the cheapest case or find some random old case to put it in haha

Get an old beige time case or something

I had it in a old case with a GTX 480 but it looked too boring :D

The main reasons why I did this was because I was bored and I done it for a laugh haha

It's nice how you can find random parts lying around your house and still have it outperform a PS4.

Wait you downgraded your GPU?

haha yeah I would be worried about people dropping things into it/ spilling drinks/ dust, flies and stuff flying inside haha

Very true, you could easily salvage old parts to create a console killer, even if you had to buy a cheap GPU

Yeah I went with the 6950 because my 480 has a VF3000F cooler on it which is pretty big (triple slot) so I thought this would be better, plus the 2GB vram is nice.

WE NEED TO GO GHETTO-ER
