Battlefield 4: Bad performance & low gpu usage on mid-range PC

I was playing on a 64p server with Flood Zone map from 18:30 to about 19. 

The performance is worse than ever. I don't know what's happening.

My framerate varied mostly between 25 and 45 fps. Unplayable.

And to the worse, my GPU usage was oscillating around 50%.

All the drivers are the latest available. Windows updated with the latest updates.

Nothing wrong with windows and other software (checked that).

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Suggestions?

Please don't recommend upgrading the PC, if I had money for that I wouldn't ask.

You don't have enough VRAM on your card.

that gpu is fine, cut enuf for bf4, try it before and got solid 60fps on low(1080p)

 

if it fine before and not now, than something might have happen, is it?

The same problem is bothering me from the start. Sometimes GPU usage ~50% (on some maps with 64 players) but mostly 75-85% (I mostly play on maps with 24-32-48p).

But NOW I want to do something about it, get to the cause of this since it isn't normal for it to work so bad.

No. It increases GPU usage, framerate BUT has huge performance drops caused by CPU Frame-time spikes (unexplainable).

It might be the RAM. I had some bad performance with 4GB and a 7750.

 

Upgraded to 8GB and 770 and everything runs smoothly

The only thing i can think of is possibly the changes they are doing to the netcode and tickrate, since this is only a recent problem for you. In the last few days they have been patching the game with fixes for the netcode and other bug fixes. One thing they are working on changing is the tickrate - how often the server and client updates what is happening basically. This was before at 10 ticks, but it is now being changed to 30 ticks, meaning that the game 'refreshes' 3x faster than before. This obviously means more stress on the CPU, as it has more work to do updating what is happening more frequently. They said they will give an option to revert back to 10 ticks for those on lower end PC's, but this might be your problem. 

This is just what i can think of, and i might be completely wrong, so don't quote me on it Hopefully i am of some help.

My friend has a CPU very close to that (I think its a 970 BE @ 3.4) and it bottlenecks his 760, however I dont think I would bottleneck a 7770 1gb

If CPU usage is at 99% and GPU usage is at 50%, there's a bottleneck. Not to mention 64 players is extremely CPU intensive. It's your CPU.

Overclocked to 3.75 GHz (250 fsb), got a RSOD after 10 minutes of gameplay.

Overclocked to 3.61 GHz (Fsb 241) and it's game-stable (so it seems) and a lot better.

 

Aaaaaaaand I was wrong to buy a 945 when I could have bought a 965BE. #TalkingAboutBadHardwareChoices
