Solved: Lenovo Legion 5 Bluetooth Connectivity Issue with Logitech K380 Keyboard and M720 Mouse

Hello everyone,

I recently ran into an intriguing problem with my Lenovo Legion 5 laptop that had me scratching my head. I bought a Logitech K380 keyboard and wanted to connect it via Bluetooth. Oddly enough, the keyboard was easily discoverable by my Oneplus 9 phone and Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, but it never showed up on my laptop. I faced a similar issue with my Logitech M720 mouse when trying to connect it via Bluetooth.

After troubleshooting using various methods like running the Windows troubleshooter, reinstalling Bluetooth drivers, factory resetting the keyboard, and even connecting other devices via Bluetooth successfully, I was at a loss.

Then, with a little help, I stumbled upon the solution:

  1. Press Win + R and type services.msc.
  2. Look for "Bluetooth Support Service."
  3. If it's set to "Disabled," change it to "Enabled."
  4. Right-click and select "Start."

To my relief, these steps allowed me to connect the keyboard successfully.

For those wondering, the "Bluetooth Support Service" in Windows is responsible for managing all the Bluetooth devices connected to the system. Enabling and starting this service ensures that Windows can manage connections, data transfer, pairing requests, and other essential Bluetooth functions effectively. If this service is disabled or not running, it can prevent the operating system from discovering or connecting with any Bluetooth devices.

I hope this post helps anyone who encounters a similar issue with their Lenovo Legion 5. It's a relatively simple solution, but it was certainly a learning experience for me.

Feel free to ask any questions or share your experiences below!

P.S.

This post is just to provide some information to anyone who has had this issue in the past since I was not able to find anything about it on the internet. The solution was actually given to me when I asked ChatGPT for help.

I have the similar problem with this exact keyboard for a while, I suspect this caused by bluetooth module that used by Logitech for K380. Especially when all 3 saved pairing option is populated.

Unifying is 2.4GHz radio, not bluetooth. But yeah, Unifying just suck as a protocol, its a gamble on whether they work or not beyond 1 device. Best practice i do is to make sure they are on front panel header, for some reason. Using main rear IO really freaks them out especially if you use it at the front of the PC instead of alongside, i keep getting lag spikes with it.

Madam, what im referring to is the K380, which is using bluetooth only protocol, meanwhile the M720 mouse is the one that have Logitech Unifiyng dongle feature.
