  1. I have been wanting to start using HomeAssistant to control my ever expanding number of smart home devices. This video is honestly hilarious because it shows exactly what issues you might see when using technology.
  2. There will probably be 2-3 switches in series. The cables wont be longer than 100m. I do have a few local servers but they all have their own dedicated cable, and the computers transferring to them also do. I just want to add more Ethernet jacks to other locations in my house (where the current phone lines are located).
  3. I might attempt running dedicated cables to a central location if this doesn't work. If I attempt what I proposed, I will essentially have to treat each run between keystones as a patch cable and then use switches to group them together. Correct? We have 8 other Ethernet Jacks that are each Cat 5e and have dedicated runs to the main switch, but I want to add ethernet to other locations (and replacing the phone system would be the easiest way to go.) I don't think that the devices will saturate the 1000Mbps. Would it be possible to use Ethernet Cable Couplers to connect "patch cab
  4. The RJ11 Phone lines were run with Cat 5e Ethernet cable and they are daisy chained together. Would it be possible to re-terminate them as RJ45, run them into switches, and have internet throughout my house? Possible issues I see with it are total bandwidth (1000Mbps split between every computer on the network) and Ping. Image 1: Shows how 2 ethernet cables are daisy chained together. The pink cable is the connecting wire between the 2 keystones, and the other cables go to other keystones throughout the house. Image 2: Shows an example of how the RJ11 keystones a
  5. Yea, the RAM is on the QVL. I have since upgraded my CPU so I could and should try increasing the clock speed again. I manually set the speed, I saw that the speed was at 2666MHz when I first built it and them wanted to increase it to its advertised speed. After that it crashed, I do remember that much.
  6. its been a long time since it has blue screened. I will have to look back through my camera roll. I'm don't really remember how I came to the conclusion that it was the ram but i lowered the speed and it stopped bluescreening and hasn't for 6-8 months
  7. When I first put my computer together last January, I inadvertently installed my RAM into the wrong slots (1&3 instead of 2&4) would this cause instability at higher clock speeds? I found that when trying to get the 3200MHz advertised, I get blue screens every few days. I am going to install the ram into the correct locations and attempt to get 3200MHz again. 8. My friend is itching to buy a computer, I put this one together and he is ready to buy it. Can you double check it, before I give the green light. I don't believe there are any issues but I don't have much time to research. 9. Ok thanks. That’s what I thought but wanted to double check.
  10. I’m trying to put together a build for my brother using a 2700x I already have. I’m wondering if there will be any bottlenecks with this system. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nrFkJf
  11. Ok, thanks do you know if I can update the BIOS with a 2700x or will i need a different chip? I will look into pricing of the two, thanks for the info.
  12. Will the Asus Prime X470-Pro + Ryzen 7 3800x work together or will I need to upgrade my motherboard to be able to support it? System: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KrrqHz I have all of the parts that are marked as purchased, I want to upgrade my CPU at around the same time that I get the 5700xt

  14. What if I have 3 Monitors? one 4k 60hz, one 1440p 144hz-165hz, and a normal 1080p 60hz monitor. I game on the 1440p monitor, use photoshop on the 4k, and Discord+Spotify on the 1080p. Would a 5700xt still work in that situation?
