Yea, the RAM is on the QVL. I have since upgraded my CPU so I could and should try increasing the clock speed again. I manually set the speed, I saw that the speed was at 2666MHz when I first built it and them wanted to increase it to its advertised speed. After that it crashed, I do remember that much.

When I first put my computer together last January, I inadvertently installed my RAM into the wrong slots (1&3 instead of 2&4) would this cause instability at higher clock speeds? I found that when trying to get the 3200MHz advertised, I get blue screens every few days. I am going to install the ram into the correct locations and attempt to get 3200MHz again. My friend is itching to buy a computer, I put this one together and he is ready to buy it. Can you double check it, before I give the green light. I don't believe there are any issues but I don't have much time to research. 2700x + 1660? Good or bad?
FireEagle244 replied to FireEagle244's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Ok thanks. That’s what I thought but wanted to double check. -
I’m trying to put together a build for my brother using a 2700x I already have. I’m wondering if there will be any bottlenecks with this system. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nrFkJf

Asus Prime X470-Pro + Ryzen 7 3800x?
FireEagle244 replied to FireEagle244's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Ok, thanks do you know if I can update the BIOS with a 2700x or will i need a different chip? I will look into pricing of the two, thanks for the info. -
Will the Asus Prime X470-Pro + Ryzen 7 3800x work together or will I need to upgrade my motherboard to be able to support it? System: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KrrqHz I have all of the parts that are marked as purchased, I want to upgrade my CPU at around the same time that I get the 5700xt

Upgrade from the 2700x?
FireEagle244 replied to FireEagle244's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
What if I have 3 Monitors? one 4k 60hz, one 1440p 144hz-165hz, and a normal 1080p 60hz monitor. I game on the 1440p monitor, use photoshop on the 4k, and Discord+Spotify on the 1080p. Would a 5700xt still work in that situation? -
Should I upgrade my CPU (2700x) if I am planning on upgrading my Graphics card to a 5700xt? What about the 3070? If I need to upgrade for either, would the 3700x be sufficient? or if there a bottleneck somewhere else? Thx - FireEagle Current System: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MGYkXb

Will I need to upgrade my CPU for 30 Series?
FireEagle244 replied to FireEagle244's topic in Graphics Cards
OK, thanks. That is something that I will take into account. If i decide to get the 3070 I will also get a 1440p monitor with atleast 120hz refresh rate. -
Will I need to upgrade my CPU for 30 Series?
FireEagle244 replied to FireEagle244's topic in Graphics Cards
So I either need to get a higher resolution monitor or turn everything up to max in every game? that really isnt an issue lol, max settings = good -

Yea, I have the same question. @Vishera can you explain in any further detail on how higher FPS monitors effect what GPU to buy?
