Pc does not POST

limefruit

Hi! I was troubleshooting my pc because it did not POST. I thought that it is the gpu because i had some issues with it before but i came across thease capasitors. Could this be the cause of my pc’s ability to POST. image.thumb.jpg.e8f59b506d6dbf0745caf8f3a5e4a5a5.jpg

which capacitors and what specifically are you noticing about them

also theres quite a lot of diagnostic steps you do for a no post condition before looking at capacitors

There are 6 of them, and i don't see one with direct issue.
The 2 surface mounted electrolytic capacitors look a bit dark, but not everyone is good at taking photo's...

The 4 PCB mounted (trough-hole) ones look ok too.
Altho it all could use a good clean. 😄

Also if you want help getting PC to post again you will need to add a lot more info.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

The yellow capasitor which is leaning. The pc turns on but monitor has no signal. I have tried normal troubleshooting steps (remove cmos battery, reinstall ram,gpu cpu, test if 1 ram stick is faulty, check all of the cables, test a different monitor, switch from displayport to hdmi. The reason why i ask about the capasitor is that i dont know can it cause my pc not to POST

The yellow capacitors are for the audio (output im guessing).
And i do not think that would cause a computer to not post, but i have been wrong before. 😄
Let's hope someone else has a better clue for you.

Okay. It is probably not that then. I suspect its a gpu issue due to having faulty images in the past. I ordered a motherboard speaker so i quess then i will find out the issue

Those capacitors (from what I can see in the photo) look fine.  They generally bulge at the top if they are bad... and they normally still work for a while.  Also, it sure looks like those are audio-related capacitors for the Realtek audio chip located right next to it as HanZie82 said

Yes, @limefruit you should follow the steps here first.  Then, if that doesn't work, you should read this post and edit your original post with the correct information.  Then we can help!

There is approximately a 117% chance I edited my post.
