Brand new drive failed in array?

TrueNAS core, raidZ2, 22% used, about 44TB remaining.

I just happened to be near my NAS the other day and saw it was degraded and I replaced the failed drive with a new one that was manufactured June 2023 same model as the rest of the array WD red 10TB.

I then setup email alerts, and luckily I did because I got an email this morning saying the pool was degraded upon looking at the server I see it's the same drive I just installed and it had already done the resilver and it was fine for like 2 days.

One thing when I took the original bad drive offline it was labeled as da2 but when I rebooted and went to online the new drive it was labeled as da7. Is this normal?

Do I need to replace this drive again already?

Those types of errors make me think there would easily be a issue with the cables or controller, not the drive itself, esp if it happens after a drive replacement. I'd check cables.

I agree here. That sounds like a cable or controller issue if it happened again right after replacing a drive so soon.
