Nope there isnt, there is litereally just what you see on apples website, but I can mirror it from my iPad to the screen

I love it, I use it every day for youtube/netflix, i love renting and buying movies from the store too. But airplay is the main reason I love it

Hmm, I wonder why there isn't.  I don't see why there wouldn't be.

How is the quality of video when you use airplay?

Because Apple don't want there to be? there are barely any 3rd party apps. I am suprised netflix is on there haha

really good, as good as it would be hooking a PC up via HDMI, airplay for things works a but like chromecast, if i am on youtube and airplay it to my apple tv, I can turn my phone off and the apple tv will continue to play. Movies through the store are pretty much as good as any blu ray I have with full 5.1 surround support

Also if you have itunes match or music on your local pc you can stream all of your music to it

But if they offer it on the iPad and iPhone, why not AppleTV?

Can you do something similar with twitch?

I have iTunes, but I use Spotify the most.  Everything I've ever purchased is on iTunes though.

Cool then you can listen to music purchased on iTunes.

because the iPhone and iPad have an app store, and apple TV doesnt. It only has like 10 things on it. I am not sure with twitch, never really tried, I can try later on if you like

The Apple TV is a great device if you are already on the iOS ecosystem. The Apple TV may be limited in its offerings through the device itself but the Airplay functionality makes its uses only limited by the apps available on your devices. If you Airplay content from a device it will stream directly to your TV audio and Video the only issue being that your home network will be the bottleneck when it comes to performance. If twitch is important to you, nothing is stoping you from streaming it from your iOS app to the Apple TV.

The Chromecast is also a good device with its own set of limitations. Unlike the Apple TV the Chromecast does not stream content from your devices, rather the devices are used more so as a remote. Select the content you want on the device and the chromecast will pull it from the net. Because of that you are currently limited to the supported apps on the chromecast. Rdio,Real Player, Youtube, Netflix, etc...

Eventually you will have alot more option available to you with a Chromecast due to it being on an open platform but people need to still develop for it.

Lastly the Apple TV supports 2.4 and 5Ghz bands whereas the Chromecast only supports 2.4, so that may be a factor in your home. I know it is in mine. (i have both btw).
