Computer slowing down due to "page faults"

My computer has slowed down quite alot and the only way to speed it up again is to restart, sign out, or end the processes with process explorer. The processes that i end have high page faults, maybe a few million. Can somone explain why this is happening/give a permanent fix?

8 gigs of ram

acer nitro ans515-54

core i5 9300H

gtx 1650

You are running out of ram and hitting the page file. That causes slowdowns.

You can upgrade the ram. The computer comes with one 8Gb stick installed. You can get another one (doesn’t have to be same capacity). 16gb sticks are a sweet spot right now. Here is one that should work: Crucial RAM 16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Laptop Memory CT16G4SFRA32A https://a.co/d/feh40w9
