8350vs8320

Go to solution Solved by i_build_nanosuits,

he went with a core i5-4670K and a radeon r9 290, he's in for quite a ride ! :) it's nice i love this forum.

get the 8320, its a lower binned 8350, and imo isnt worth the 30 bucks if youre on a tight budget

None. Go with Intel (new architecture, more powerful cores, less power consumption...)

What do you mean?If i get the 8350 i will have to wait longer to build but the 8320 seems like a cheap alternitive, but i could also wait EVEN longer and go intel if it is really worth it, just wanted some advice.

between those 2 I'd say 8350 but if you need to save up a bit go 8320

but if you're going intel IMO go extreme edition or xeon just because you can do it.

but if you're even in a budget just go 4670k but if you're more into a budget go 8320.

just my cake = extreme editions and xeons are the way to go. 4670k 4770k are budget. but everyone has a different cake.

IMHO 8350 and 8320 are more of a budget too.

Xeon>extreme edition>4770k>4670k>8350>8320 will be how I place them depends on your budget and where you are buying it.

IMO there are some places where you can grab a 8320 for barely a 100 bucks. and sometimes like my place where the 8320 is just almost similar priced like the 4670k

another advice:

buy it all at the same time. if you can't buy them all right now at the same time just save up. get yourself some beer or something while waiting.

Live your life like a dream.

We have no idea what the system is being used for, or how the cpu choice affects your other components.

By not planning the system as a whole and focusing on the cpu without context, you're asking for blind advice.

Is it okay if i link the rest of my build from PC part picker then?

Sure.

If you're planning a new build, you might as well do it in the New Builds and Planning section though.

No no no no! Fanboy is someone who worships the brand even if it's bad. And in my case, everyone knows Intel is leading in CPUs for years. I haven't seen good CPU from AMD for a long time. I admit, they produce good GPUs, but not a CPU.  I'm talking the facts, I'm fair & it's not fanboyism. If you buy AMD it's up to you, but you gonna choose bad CPU, & it will be you who gonna be disappointed, not me, lol.

Maybe tell us what you're planning to do with a new cpu? If it's just gaming, anywhere where the 8350 can take advantage of its 8 cores those games are going to be gpu bound so there isn't a difference between the 4300 & 8350. If you plan to play a lot of massive multiplayer games you're nothing with AMD at all and the extra 4 cores you find on 8xxx are complety useless for them.

i would recommand the FX-8320 and overclock it it's the SAME EXACT chip as the 8350 only lower clock speed so save yourself

some money and get a good after market CPU cooler, and a motherboard with at leat a 6+2 power phase, idealy an 8+2 power phase,

the cheapest board to fit this CPU overclocked is the gigabyte 970A-UD3P (89$) AWESOME CPU FOR GAMING.

If you want to play BF5 on highest settings possible provided you have an high-end GPU, FX 8 core or core i7...

Enough of this intel fanboyism, even a core i5 gets over 90 to 95% usage in BF4 and crysis 3 online, this clearly shows this quad core chip

is having a mouthful in even current modern games, what will it do in future games...lower settings.

Get the 8320 imo. You don't need Intel single core for any of those games and an AMD will treat ya well. Intel is more MMO's where you see a big difference, and indies like Day-Z/Rust.

MB? They often have the Gigabyte and Asus 990fx on sale. Cheapest I would go is the 8 plus 2 powerphase non 990fx Gigabyte. They hit like 90-100 often.

Ya i figured that,i just wanted to double check with some of the more experinced guys here.Eventually when the i 9 comes out or what ever it is called i will buy a i7-4670k and a new motherboard and psu for crossfire compatibility.

So i have to have a certain mother board to overclock?

Yes. Cheap motherboards and AMD don't mix (the 8 cores). These are high voltage chips which need decent power phases on the motherboard.  Looking at 90-120 bucks for a board that will oc and LAST.

Cheapest I see the Asus 990fx

Cheapest I see the Gigabyte 990fx

Cheapest board I would get with an 8320 or up to OC it a bit. 8 plus 2 power phases should get ya like 4.2 or up. I would get that and a 8320 on a budget. It is on sale right now (lucky you) :).

Yup. That was the one I was talking about :). It's on sale right now, I edited my post with all the options. Keep the OC moderate on it and it will get ya there. 75 bucks ain't bad at all either. That board is usually in the 90's.

Yup that's defenetly the good motherboard to go with, be ADVISED that this motherboard does not support SLI/crossfire very well cause the 2nd PCIe slot is only 4x speed (like every 970 chipset motherboard)

but for the price you can't beat that, it's peace of mine and will allow major overclocks.

Make sure you include a third party CPU cooler in your build, an hyper 212 from cooler master is a very good performer for around 30$!

If you NEED SLI or CFX than you are looking at the 990FX version of this board

Fanboys are people who recommend AMD for MMO players sir. I recommended this guy an AMD. Might want to actually check your own posts. I don't recommend anything without knowing what people are going to do or play and I have recommended AMD CPU's and GPU's often. I have built AMD's for people, including family members. I have used R9 270's in the majority of budget builds, when paired with either companies cpu.

Cus you know. That is what "Intel fanboys" do. Now go back to that fantasy world where one CPU is the right choice for all PC users. I am a fan of whatever is going to make the customer or the person happy. This guy? Will be happy with an AMD CPU.
