Can anyone help with cases for the Galaxy z fold 4

Ryanwake

Even though I have insurance I broke my Galaxy fold 3 3 times, and when I got my Galaxy fold four I broke it within a month.

I thought spending $80 on a Case would be beneficial but now that I'm looking for a new one I found it for $30

When I look it up on YouTube I just find a bunch of sponsored results and that's exactly how I got this case.

Those sponsored videos points towards this, a $90 case. I don't really want to spend $90 on a case just to find out in 30 days that it's 50% off and completely useless.

Also I only have $2,500 instead of $3000 in insurance, and last year when I only broke it three times I still had to live with the phone and just one for a month each time.

And because of broken it much faster after this replacement I estimate I'm going to have to pay over $400 on top of the $100 just to have a phone that folds

I'd recommend not breaking your phone in the first place, or getting a normal phone if you can't stop breaking the folding ones.

That price looks about right, all the nice cases for that phone are $60-90 on Amazon. Makes sense, the phone folds so there's a lot more work and more expensive materials/tooling required to make a case that works. If you're worried about quality I'd look at what Otterbox has and get one of those, they're the most legit durable case maker in the business for good reason, I've never had an issue with their cases.

Thx I'll try OtterBox looking up OtterBox, I've had good experiences with them my note survived over a year and didn't break until my friend took it out of the case and dropped it.

How are you breaking the phones so quickly?

I never had this problem until the fold, I just dropped my phone on tar and or my hardwood floor several times a week.

Solid glass phones never seem to care about that with a solid case.

I've tried this type of case before, it's main flaw is around the smaller screen it's thin plastic, you think OtterBox is worth trying it's like $40 cheaper than the one I was looking at so I could buy two of them.

I have no idea what I'm doing

Folding phones are fragile and have nearly impossible to protect weak points, I doubt there’s a case on earth that could protect a Fold 4 from you.  Give up and trade it in for a traditional phone and put a defender case on that

May want to get that looked at, being unable to hold an item in your hand is a neuromuscular problem.

You may say I'm being stupid or full of shit, but 4 broken phones should tell you something.

I agree with the sentiment that foldables may not be for you/your life style. If you're insistent on sticking with a folable, you may need to make some adjustments on how you go through your day with your phone. I got a Fold 2 and kept it with just a dbrand skin until the 4 launched. I had to drastically change my day to day switching from the S20 to my first fold. Since the S5, i felt semi comfortable bringing my phone around water. That was a huge no-go with Fold 2 and i'm still pretty paranoid about water, even with the IP68 rating on the Fold 4. At the time I worked almost daily doing labor like concrete work, and such, so I ALWAYS left my phone in the truck until the day was over, or would grab it exclusively for photos of the job site. I dropped it once at home about 8 months in and just lived with the small chip on the corner of the cover screen. Less than a year into dailying my fold, I noticed it wasn't completely opening all the way and it continued to get worse. I had Samsung Care+ which is $17/month and covers all repair outside of warranty including accidental damage from what I understand. This repair was covered and they fixed the cover screen while they were at it.

TLDR: Get a slab phone if you cant or wont change your life with the Fold. If getting rid of the phone isnt an option, Samsung Care+ is a necessity for a Foldable imo. Foldables can last a reasonable amount of time if you take care of them. also dbrand makes a grip case which sounds like EXACTLY what you need.

I have this case on my Fold 4: https://a.co/d/hsqfLNs

I'm pretty careful and don't drop it often though. I don't think it will work out well for your use case but for anyone else looking for something sleek and not too cumbersome, I enjoy this one.

This is the case I have on my Z Fold 4 and I love it. I work in a metal fabrication shop and have dropped my phone multiple times and have put it through less than ideal situations and I have no damage to the phone whatsoever. I should mention that I got the phone maybe a week after launch and ordered this case within the first week of having the phone so I have been using it for awhile now. As luck would have it the case is on sale for 50% off as of the time of me writing this.
