From easiest to hardest:

  • Enable PBO2
  • Tweak PBO2 values for your configuration.
  • Tweak PBO2 voltage curve with Curve Optimizer.
  • Tweak your fan curves.
  • Overclock your infinity fabric.
  • Overclock your RAMs.

That being said “optimization” is used with another word so that one would know what to optimize for.

What do you mean by optimize?

I do not know how to explain it then.
I do know, that when I used my 4790k Before upgrading to 5800x, I could play on 1 monitor, and watch a movie, or browse in chrome with 15 tabs open without an issue.
Now, while browsing 15 tabs, and watching a youtube video, my pc feels chunky, and freezes from time to time, even opening a task manager, it would take 3,4 seconds to see the list of running programs. I mean, like what the He** ?

Its supposed to be much faster.

that's not resolved by "optimizing your cpu".. you have a problem here.

among the options:

- your cooler isnt on properly and it's overheating to hell and back

- windows made a massive mess of the drivers, and is actively eating itself

- something else broke during the upgrade, causing instability

Don't you just get out of RAM ? Games from 4th gen era ate waaaay less RAM than nowadays, and browser tabs as well...

This can be, I do not know anything about it. But all these issues I have, are from the moment I upgraded to AMD.

No, I checked it.
I can agree 16GB can be not enough sometimes, but I see only 65% ~ 75% usage.

I upgraded from a 970 to 3070 and I also noticed worse multi tasking performance. GTX970 would be perfectly fine playing media at other monitors while being fully utilized by games in my primary monitor. Meanwhile 3070 can’t do that even in the same game while also being fully utilized.

If you are suspecting of performance problems, download 3dmark and run the free benchmark it has and compare your results to other systems.

I did. I had lower scores, about 1000 points or so. And always assumed the cause of Ram, Monitor, overclocked, or smth.
Also, I use the 3Dmark not the free version.
Out of the next options, which is the best to perform for test. Ill post the result just to see what people think.

Uploaded the results, the 1080 p vs 1440p is just a small difference as I see.

Your score is within bell curve. Meaning your hardware is performing as it should. You can see that results you are comparing to have significantly higher GPU clocks and CPU clocks, that alone can make the difference.

Yeah. I noticed, the top scorer, is overclocked as well as he probably has liquid-colled entirely pc.
But, knowing that the PC performs as supposed to, it is annoying, that I have this exp while doing daily tasks, playing and watching movies, browsing, etc.

Did you reinstall Windows when switching from the 4790k to the 5800x?

If not, that's your issue.

Go to the back of the bios, in the AMD overclocking section.

Enable PBO, Advanced

Set PPT to 200w

TDC 140 (160 if you can)

EDC 180 (190 if you can)

Go to Curve settings, enable, Negative all core -30

Boost Override +200

Save and exit.

Should be boosting to 5050MHz single core(s), and should be able to do 4600 for all core loads.

I would avoid Ryzen Master. You can do everything it can.

AMD R7 5800X3D | Thermalright Aqua Elite 360, 3x TL-B12, 2x TL-K12
Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z @ 3733C14
Zotac 4070 Ti Trinity OC @ 3045/1495 | WD SN850, SN850X
Seasonic Vertex GX-1000 | Fractal Torrent Compact, 2x TL-B14

Everyone is recommending starting at -30 CO but I can't boot over -17 and so far only -10 all core is stable in all games I play.

I must have gotten a bad 5800x.
