This popped up on my youtube home page. Looks like a smaller channel. They've turned chat off, but it's promoting a crypto scam. Sorta crazy that I get to see one for myself after I missed the LTT drama.

Update: The stream has been taken down.

I try to be respectful. If I ever come off in a different manner, I probably don't mean to. If I don't help you sorry, if I do, mark my comment as the solution.

How many yt channels get "hacked" per day? @Wardus

I have no idea. I think there's a website out there that tracks it though.

There was a guy that ran a website that pulled transcripts from videos and made the subtitles searchable who was able to generate a list of Youtube channels (of those that he tracks) that were hacked in a week, and it was hundreds of channels.

Linus discussed it on the WAN show. 46:30 mark.

i mean, then its probably 1000s or probably 100k+... i was just trying to understand the rationale behind what we're discussing, yt channels get "hacked" (not actually hacked) all the time ... So if anything it would be interesting to discuss the how ig? (probably "clicked on the wrong link from wrong king that wrote me an email" kinda stuff)

Eh, most likely the same way LTT did.

Received an email from what seems a company that wants to advertise something, opened the file they sent, then session token grabbed.

I found it funny that youtube doesn't ask for password / pin / 2fa when a user wants to change something on the channel settings / videos.
