Steam download speed

FlightPiano

So I decided to download a game on my desktop pc on steam, and the download speed was like 10mbps, I went to do a internet speed connection and it said 100mbps, I checked in steam and nothing was stopping it from going higher, I am using Ethernet instead of internet and am not sure if that could affect it, looking for any info on my issue. Thanks!

was it MB/s or Mb/s. Chances are it was MB/s which is Bytes, not bits. Big B is Bytes, of which there are 8 bits (little b) in a Byte. So if you have 100mbps from your ISP, this is bits. So that translates to roughly 8 MB/s.
