SSD always showing 64c as temperature.

Go to solution Solved by Latvian Video,

My guess is because its a cheaper ssd, they havent bothered to include the temp sensor

As seen in the image, my ssd is always showing 64c, whether under load or not. Is there a reason for why this is happening, or is it just a faulty temperature measurer?

What is the temp during a cold start? If it’s 64c then the temperature sensor is either toast, or also likely there is none on this SSD.

CrystalDiskInfo usually refreshes the data every 5 minutes or so. Can you look at your SSD temperature in HWInfo? HWInfo64 refreshes the drive's temperature every 5 seconds per default

Pressing F5 in Crystaldiskinfo refreshes instantly by the way.

OP - maybe firmware update would fix it- https://www.silicon-power.com/web/ir/firmware

If I may ask, what is a cold start?

I think you're right. I've never seen the temperature change at all, and it always shown 64c.

Ive heard of cheaper ssds not having a temp sensor, but its odd that they have it set that high

Haha yeah, it's the silicon power. Some of the stuff are off too, such as NVMe 1.4 instead of the listed 1.3.
